 Carl Arp -
Carl began his insurance career as a claims adjuster with Texas Employers. He soon moved into sales for Texas Employers, later starting his own agency. Carl remains a strong claims advocate for his clients, often using his claims background to assist in the resolution of difficult claims. Carl works very closely with a variety of commercial clients ranging from construction to manufacturing. Carl is a fourth generation Houstonian; his ancestors landed in Texas in 1836-37. He is active in the U.H. Alumni Association, and is a past president of the Bauer College of Business Alumni Association.
 Gary Banks -
Gary began his career in 1974 with the Travelers Insurance Companies. He left to assume managerial responsibilities at a mortgage company owned insurance agency, before eventually joining with others to found his own agency. Gary works with a variety of clients, with special emphasis on construction, commercial real estate, and manufacturing. He is very active in both industry associations, as well as serving on advisory councils for various insurance companies. Gary is one of the eight original founders of IAS and serves as its Treasurer. He holds a BBA degree.
 Henry Childers -
Henry's experience as a pilot in the U. S. Air Force taught him the art of focusing on what is essential. He has brought that talent to his career in insurance. Henry enjoys working with other focused clients, hence his concentration in construction, engineering, and service trades. Construction bonding is also one of his areas of expertise. Henry has his BS degree, and is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Henry is a founding member of IAS.
 Ken Kapelka -
Ken is one of a small handful of agents with a college degree in insurance. Capitalizing on the knowledge gained from his studies, Ken has developed his interests in working with commercial and residential construction clients, mortgage companies, and service industries. He also has a strong interest in the development and growth of IAS's book of personal insurance. As a former state association president and current Chairman of the IAS organization, Ken brings strong leadership abilities to his role as an insurance advocate for his clients and spokesman for IAS. Ken is an original founder of IAS.
 Bill Kottwitz, Jr. -
Bill is a third generation insurance agent. Nurtured in the insurance business, Bill began his formal training in 1981, completing an extensive training program with a multi-national insurance company. While considered a generalist, Bill has developed special interests in working in the areas of real estate development and management, retail/wholesale distribution, senior care facilities, and assisting high net worth individuals in meeting their special needs. He is an IAS principal.
 Jim Kottwitz -
Jim has grown up in the insurance industry, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father. His tenure with a national insurance brokerage firm, combined with his experience in his family's business, has given Jim a unique perspective. For more than 20 years, Jim has assisted clients, both domestic and foreign, in the design, marketing, negotiation, and placement of competitive insurance programs, and in the management of their risk management and cash flow programs. Jim represents and works closely with manufacturing clients, financial clients, clients in the fields of medicine, technology, public entities, commercial real estate, and professional liability. Jim is President and COO of IAS. He is also a principal of the firm.
 J.R. Mitchell -
With 34 years in the insurance industry, J. R. has had extensive experience in the marketing of commercial insurance. His interests include construction, manufacturing, and transportation. J. R. began his career as a workers' compensation specialist withTexas Employers. Workers' compensation continues to be one of his strengths. J. R. has a BS degree, has served as a member of the U.S. Army's Special Forces, and is active in his community through his church, Habitat for Humanity, and the Sons of the American Revolution. J. R. is a founding member of IAS.
 Jerry Offner -
Jerry has worked in commercial insurance for more than 25 years, servicing a diverse clientele. In recent years, he has become interested in the development of specialized cargo insurance programs for electronics distributors (www.hightechcargoinsurance.com) and programs for medical technology and emerging technology firms (www.emergingtechinsurance.com). Jerry is multi-lingual and works with a number of international firms.
 Jo Stevenson -
Jo grew up in a family owned business, thus acquiring insight into the complexities businesses face in securing adequate protection from the risks they face. This background, combined with her experiences gained while working for a leading international bank and a Fortune 500 company, makes her a strong advocate for her clients in the fields of technology, commercial real estate, and manufacturing, be they local or international. Jo also aggressively seeks and places personal insurance for her many clients. Jo has both a BBA and a MBA degree.
 Brian Schmulen -
Brian held various positions in sales and business development, primarily in the fields of healthcare and business technology services, before his competitive drive led him to IAS. Brian likes the challenge of helping his clients find solutions to insurance related problems. He is a generalist, working with wholesale distributors, retail establishments, manufacturers, engineering firms, commercial real estate owners, healthcare, and professional enterprises. Brian has a degree in Business and Computer Science.
 Scott Sullivan -
Prior to his insurance career, Scott's career included venture capital formation, commercial real estate, IT start-up and development, and business consulting. Scott has a degree in International Economics and has studied in both Europe and Asia. With this background, Scott has developed an interest in working with clients in technology, professional liability, foreign insurance programs, D&O, and financial institutions.
 Olga Thompson -
Proudly holding the professional designation as a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter, Olga uses this knowledge in assisting her clients in the design, placement, implementation and monitoring of middle market accounts in a variety of industries, especially in residential construction. Olga also works closely with many non-profit organizations.
 Mike Turner -
With a B.A. in economics, an MBA in marketing & finance, and professional designations as a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Mike possesses a unique perspective when assisting his clients in the management of their insurance and risk management programs. Mike is a generalist, with clients in manufacturing, wholesale/retail distribution, various service industries, and professional organizations. He works closely with clients in the middle market, as well as with national and international accounts. Mike is one of the founders of IAS.
 Aaron Clark -
A desire to serve others naturally led Aaron to his insurance career. As his client’s advocate, Aaron strives to provide the most information possible to help his clients make smart and informed decisions. He has expertise in helping clients in the construction, medical, restaurant, retail, technology and real estate investing industries. Aaron also enjoys helping his individual clients with their personal insurance and retirement through life insurance and disability planning from his own life experiences.
